It’s just another lonely day in Benny Stevens’ life. Although he’s not really a loner, the man’s been living the last months all by himself – his close friends aren’t living nearby anymore, whereas blood family is nowhere to be found. Truth is 2016 is being a roller coaster of emotions to the young man… He’s seen both the rock bottom and success. Regardless of the outcome, Benny sucks up the failures and perseveres – “Life knocks you down but you better make sure to get back to your feet”; his late mother said.
That quote always stuck up to Benny. No matter where he is, he’ll always give his best. Has it been being enough in AWE? Not really. However, he’s been enjoying the ride like he never did before. He found his passion… He likes several sports; however, wrestling is, indeed, his passion.
The flamboyant individual finds himself in New York; the state which his next match is taking place. Unlike his opponent, Benny’s clothing draws the attention of the people in the surroundings. Perhaps it’s the flashy leopard print pants or the suede cowboy boots. Either way, women turn their heads to watch him pass by while men shake their heads at his style. One can tell that Benny feeds off of the attention that he gets, whether it’s positive or not – he just wants the people to notice him.
Benny takes a seat on the soil right next to the lake – it’s a beautiful view of the Central Park during autumn. The dry leaves fly past his face almost as if it was all planned, his long blond hair waves in the air and the sun brightens up the area. Finally, a woman’s voice interrupts the man contemplating the environment.
“Wow… Such a coincidence. It’s good to see you again, Ben.” She sounded genuinely happy.
Benny looks up to a brunette woman standing next to him. She shyly holds her purse upon her abdomen; the strong wind presses her white dress on her lean body. Benny takes off his glasses and gets up – for a moment, he stays silent as they stare eye to eye.
“Jessica.” Benny nods and then smiles.
She smiles as well; next, they hug each other. Jessica’s an ex-girlfriend – Benny had already mentioned that he's only loved two women in his life: his mother and the woman standing before him.
“It’s been… What? Three months? It’s good to see you.” Benny says as they seat side by side.
“Yup... Three months back in Texas. How was the party, anyway?”
“Party?”
Jessica chuckles. She hasn’t forgotten the moment that they saw each other in Texas.
“Remember the diner? I was working as waitress and all that… You weren’t feeling so well and…”
“Oh yeah! Well, it was a nice party.”
Benny said such briefly and looked far away, almost as if he was nervous – a rare sight for a man that calls himself the Vag-Crushin’ Overlord. Jessica knows him well; therefore, she noticed so.

“How are you doing?”
“I’m doing fine, thanks for asking… Ain’t working in Texas anymore. The company closed.”
“So I heard…”
“…Yeah. Sucks but it is what it is.”
There’s a brief awkward silence between the two. Meanwhile, we hear the sounds of the wind and the people enjoying the park.
“Anyway… How about you? What brings you to New York?”
“I quit that job in Texas.”
“Oh…”
“Yeah… Sucks but it is what it is.”
She laughs after saying that sentence. Benny looks at her and lets out a quick chuckle.

“I still have a job, though… I mean, a career. Been travelling a lot as of lately you have no idea, Jess. I was in Philly a couple of days ago and before that I was in Washington.”
Jessica smiles.
“Sounds awesome, Ben. Well, certainly better than being stuck in a shitty diner serving fuckin' Trump voters, right?”
Benny laughs.
“Right.”
Once again, silence. Jessica admires Benny’s face features while the latter just looks at the lake and a couple of kids playing football. It’s actually a funny view because we’re not used to witnessing Benny nervous nearby a female.
“You’re looking way better than before, though. I’m glad you decided to listen to my opinion!”
“Umm… What ya mean?”
Benny looks at her. Jessica just laughs and shrugs before looking up to the horizon.

“I bet you’ve been meeting a bunch of women on the road… Looking all handsome like that.”
Finally, Benny gets back to his true self. A confident smirk is followed by a chuckle.
“Oh, you know how the VCO rolls, Jess. I kills the pussy!”
Jessica looks at Benny and stays silent for a moment. Next, she bursts out laughing. Benny laughs too – mostly because he’s lying, and he probably knows that Jessica noticed so. After all, Benny has been too busy to “kills” pussies as of lately. He’s too focused on wrestling and wrestling only.
“That you do. What does VCO stand for, anyway?”
Benny laughs and shakes his head.
“I’m just kidding… I know what it means. I’ve been watching you since Texas, mister VCO.”
“Oh, have you?” Benny sounded surprised.
“Alpha Wrestling Empire, huh? That’s why I’m here… I’m here to watch you.”
Benny lowers his head and rests his forehead on his fingers.
“What’s the matter? Don’t you want me to watch you?”
Benny looks up to the surroundings.
“Oh, no no no… It’s just that… It’d be better if you watched me killing it, y’know?”
“Oh, no no no… It’s just that… It’d be better if you watched me killing it, y’know?”
“Well, then do it.”
“Do what?”
“Kill it!”
“I…”
Benny takes a deep breath.
“Spill it out, Ben.”
“It’s Erron Wilder.”
“… And?”
“He’s damn good… I’m fucked, Jessica. I’m. Fucked.”
Jessica laughs. A brief silence is interrupted by her soft voice.
“Erron knocks you down but you better make sure to get back to your feet… And kill him.”
Benny’s caught off guard one more time. He looks at her and for a brief moment he reminds of the moments that he shared with his mom alongside Jessica.
“So… Do you wanna grab a drink or something like that? I’m thirsty.”
Jessica smiles and gets up to her feet. Next, so does Benny. They engage in another conversation as they walk away.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The scene fades to the very top of the Empire State Building – the infamous 103rd floor. There stands Benny whom stares at the beautiful sight of Manhattan. He looks to the camera as he carelessly rests his body on the edge of the guardrail.
“Erron Wilder.”
Quick pause.
“Would you believe me if I told you that you’re one of my dream opponents, Wilder?”
Benny chuckles and finally walks away of the guardrail.
“I know who you are, Erron… I’ve been watching you since your 4CW days. Honestly? I don’t know whether there’s a God or not, but I feel like he’s either tryna fuck me in the ass or force me to walk upon proving grounds. I mean, out of all the roster members, my first opponent in the Alpha Cup Tournament had to be you – unbelievable. See, this ain't just another walk in the park for me. I know exactly what you’re about when it comes to wrestling and that’s what concerns me the most.
It takes one stuntman to understand another… Just look at this fuckin’ place. There aren’t too many people in the world that would stand over here. Me? I think it’s nothing. Pretty sure it ain’t nothing for you either. We crave for adrenaline, Erron. We’re not like those yes-men following all the rules and not taking risks ‘cause they’re too afraid to lose their shitty lives. The fact of the matter is being a stuntman’s not a hobby; it’s a way of life. We live life on the edge… Perhaps expecting to die every single time we try something crazy but, at the same time, not really willing to die. We need that adrenaline rush, and we won’t feel it when we’re buried five feet deep, are we?
So yeah… We’re fucked in the head, Erron. I know that’s nothing but common sense for you, but I feel like I should explain how our insane minds work, y’know? Nowadays, people are pussies – and I ain’t talking about the good pussy. I’m talking about cowards talking a bunch of shit on social media and ganging up on others just to make them feel better about their broken selves. I’m talking about wrestlers who have no backstage work ethics. Wrestlers who walk around as if they’re better than everybody even though their reality is the opposite.
I’m not one of those pussies, Erron… And neither are you. But there’s a difference between you and me.”
Benny takes another quick pause before pointing to the camera.
“You get your shit done… Simple as that.”
He lets out a frustrated sigh.
“What does Benny Stevens have against a former Omerta member coming from PRIDE on a hot streak? I ain’t got shit except my balls of steel and the reluctance to lose, Erron. That’s the difference between you and me… I cannot lose. Matter fact, I cannot afford to lose at this point. The odds keep increasing, man. The odds keep increasing and I’m always too damn close to get shit done – I can feel the success resting upon my hands and then, somehow, I manage to let it go off my grasp. I’m always close, yet always ONE fuckin’ step behind.
Now that kinda shit gets in my head, y’know? Because every time I get knocked down, I get up expecting to get dropped again. Only losers think that way – which fits my current state. That’s why I cannot afford to lose, Erron. I wasn’t born to be a loser.
Stuntmen weren’t born to be losers.
We were born to be the apex of courage! Fear is natural, but we’re a different breed… We live off of fear. In other words, we fuckin’ live to dare.”
Benny slides his hands over his long hair and motions as he speaks.
“I’m excited for this match, though… Yeah, the odds are fucking stacked against me but it is what it is, I’ve been wrestling that way since my debut – always the underdog. The reason of my excitement is the feeling of an upcoming chaos, Erron. I’m fully aware that stuntman versus stuntman is like two black holes colliding, ya feel me? You don’t even know what the fuck happens; but you just know that shit’s about to go down and you don’t wanna be nearby when it’s happening. Good thing is I crave for that kinda shit and hey, I’m actually involved in it!
I’m even willing to drink a beer or two with ya after our match – that’s if one of us ain’t broken in half, of course. 'Cause you’re not a bad guy, Erron. We are not bad guys. We’re just tryna survive in this hypocrite world that’s just as insane as we are. We accept our true selves – we ain’t sugar coating jackshit.
That’s who I am… And right now, I’m here to fuck shit up.
So I dare you to try me, son! I double dare you to be as insane as I am when we square up. I fuckin’ triple dare you to bet your life against mine in that ring…
So I dare you to try me, son! I double dare you to be as insane as I am when we square up. I fuckin’ triple dare you to bet your life against mine in that ring…
… This is the toughest match of my career, Erron. I’m willing to die just to win this motherfucka – and I ain’t even planning to die yet. So... Just another stuntman day. We’re really fucked in the head, aren’t we?
See ya in Elmira, pal.”
See ya in Elmira, pal.”
Benny takes a deep breath as he observes the sight before his eyes. Finally, the scene fades.
