Corey Sanders was hard at work in his home gym as the sound of fists striking the heavy bag, dangling in front of him, echoed throughout the room. Loud grunts followed as Corey was getting himself into fighting shape. The promo from Jessie Roberts was playing on a loop in the background as he uses as fuel for each strike.
"No one questions my stamina. Yes, I admit that I'm not as young as you Jessie but I bet i can still wrestle circles around you. You and I are cut from a similar cloth but that's as far as the similarities go. We both have a striking ability that is probably among the elite here in AWE but are you precise with your strikes. Can you string multiple strikes together flawlessly without stopping? That is one of the differences we have Jessie. I was trying to give you some words of encouragement but you tossed them back into my face. I am a power ranger fanatic but that doesn't mean good can't fight another good person. Several times during a power ranger episode, one or two Rangers are having problems whether it be an external issue or an internal issue. No matter the problem, they still find a way to work them out. Just like I will work my ring rust out with the help from this match,"
Corey begins his speech toward Jessie Roberts when footsteps can be heard from a distance.
"Babe, are you down here?" calls out Izzy as she takes a few steps down the staircase.
"Yes, I am getting some last minute training in before dinner," he replies while placing both hands on the bag to keep it from swinging.
"That is okay babe. I was just wondering if you wanted me to order a pizza and find a movie for us to watch," suggests Izzy as her face appears in the dimly lit space. Corey was happy to see her as he stepped away from the bag.
"That sounds really good Izzy. I'll be up soon," he says while giving her a smile. Izzy smiles back before walking back up the steps.
Corey waits for a few minutes before resuming his workout.
"Jessie, don't let my age fool you. I can still get it done in the ring. My endurance is at an all time high as my focus has never been better. I am certain that we can have a quality match. That is if you give one hundred percent to it. I am committed to prove that I can still go in this business even when the age count is a factor. In your mind, you see the numeric age and assume that I have slowed. Didn't anyone tell you that age is just that a number. I may look old but I am far from being old. Don't believe me then watch me as I GO FOR ALPHA. See you on Sunday," Corey lands one final blow to the heavy bag as the scene slowly fades.
