Though she hid it well, Bindy was stressed. Most of her wrestling career consisted of working to pay bills and have a little extra cash left over at the end of the month. She was just fine with that life. It was easy, low stress. Every now and then a match came up with some stakes, maybe a contendership, or a title, and while those things were important, if she lost it really only affected her. Except for now, here she was representing someone else’s best interest, and in a way, the interest and future of all of AWE might rely on her.
She had tried to avoiding thinking about, instead preoccupying herself with online shopping and yoga. But finally when that phone call came in, asking if she wanted to train she had to get serious and say yes. Also, the person asking was somebody she felt could benefit from a little Bindy in their life. If you couldn’t tell just yet, Bindy had a bit of a soft spot when it came to people she thought needed help.
Now, she might have been having second thoughts about all of that, feet pounding against the pavement in a steady rhythm, entering whatever mile of this afternoon run she’d agreed to be a part of. The exercise didn’t bother her, she was in great shape and while her breathing was mildly labored she felt good at this pace. What was bothering her was the other person who was supposed to be training with her whom she felt was in no way contributing. They would disagree, naturally.
The shrill pitch of a whistle cut through the air, over and over. Bindy grit her teeth, and looked over to the source of it.
ɫAARONɫ
Don’t slow down now!
The man, one could presume was Aaron Pace, even though his face was wrapped in gauze was standing on top of a motorized Segway that he rode to keep up with Bindy. For several miles now he’d been at this, circling her with it, and blowing his own whistle sporadically.
ɫAARONɫ
You’ll never get up the ladder faster than others going this speed!
In her mind, when she’d agreed to this she’d imagined more that she’d be helping an injured AWE star in their recovery, and less being harassed by them. Continuing to jog, she reached up and smoothed down a few fly away baby hairs, readjusting a bobby pin to keep them in place. Aaron pulled ahead of her, turned his Segway around, and now piloted it in reverse.

And how do you plan on beating anyone? You might actually get something out of this if you were running too, you know!
ɫAARONɫ
I’m cultivating energy. I’m saving it all so that when Executive Decision comes around I have a week’s worth of performance and stamina to use! Besides, can you not see that I’m still recovering from a near fatal injury? Doctors say a lesser man would have died! In fact, I’m sure Thirteen was going to pick me for that match before I was so tragically mauled by that She-Bear Caroline Burchill.
She resolved that when she caught up with him, she was going to shove his stupid Segway over, with him included. So Bindy jogged faster, just enough to gain some ground on Aaron.
ɫAARONɫ
And now you’re profiting from my misery. What would your fans think? I guess I shouldn’t be shocked, seeing as you’re trying to steal my lawyer, Goose too.
Normally, she’d have more patience and kindness, but the stress of her role in the main event had zapped that. And as the man raised the whistle and blew it for what seemed like the kajillionth time, she snapped, growling at him and breaking into a full run.

Why are you even here!? You know you can stand and boss people around indoors, away from me, right?
ɫAARONɫ
Because! You’ve taken my spot in the main event. I would feel awful if I didn’t try and help you become the best Bindy you could be before the match! I don’t want you embarrassing everyone! Is that what you want?
She’d finally caught up with him, and grabbed onto the handlebars of the Segway. Aaron bawked in surprise, and quickly released the throttle so it stopped moving. Bindy still tried to tip it, but found it heavier than she had anticipated.
»BINDY«
This isn’t YOUR SPOT, it’s MINE! I’m the one who went and grabbed that brass ring! And of course I don’t want to embarrass anyone! Do you know how much pressure this is? No, you don’t! Because you have the luxury of being able to ignore your own match! This is important to me. It means more than you could even begin to understand, so unless you’re actually planning on REALLY helping me then why don’t you just ride this junk back to your hospital bed or even straight to HECK!!
Her cheeks and jaw were trembling, and her eyes slightly misty. Emotions obviously taut and raw. But Aaron who was struck silent for a moment didn’t turn around and leave. Instead, he seemed to smile under his massive wad of bandages.
ɫAARONɫ
There it is! THE FIGHTING SPIRIT! I was wondering what it would take to get it out of you. That’s just what you need if you plan on standing a chance against your other opponents!
It wouldn’t be a surprise if he was covering his ass now, pretending he had purposefully riled her up until she overflowed. But Bindy had gone off and she felt a little better because of it either way. The mummy-faced man left her shaking her head, and she stepped away, releasing her hold on his Segway. All she could do now was just continue walking in the same direction she had been before. Several steps later, Aaron’s whistle cut through the air, shrill and piercing, with him shouting afterwards.
