“I told you.”
Akragth looked up from his kneeling position. On the floor before him lay a heap of papers, randomly - or at least seemingly randomly - scattered about the place.
“I told you, all of you, that I would defeat inferior Dom. I told you, and I did precisely that.. The chokeslam lands, the Devildriver connects, Lawson ends up with no idea of what day it is anymore. One, two, three. I guess you could say that I did, indeed, break the law
“And it was all too easy.”
He brushed through the papers, picking one up - showing an image of Lawson - which he ten screwed up and tossed away.
“But enough of that pathetic wreck of a man though, time to look forward. Which brings me to my next challe- ha, victim; Tornado Desencadenado. Firstly, what a name. I had to look up what Desencadenado means. ‘Triggered’? Tornado Triggered? I mean...what? Is this is a case of something akin to chinglish, or did you come up with that gibberish on purpose?
“I guess it hardly matters, nobody will remember you anyway.”
He pulled out a new piece of paper, this time showing information about his opponent.
“Just who is this Tornado Dishwasher? A former middleweight boxing champion who thinks that wrestling is all about “flippy shit”. A man who is all style, no substance. A kid with a mediocre record right here in AWE. A ‘competitor’ who could not even defeat Tommy Stone.
“Could not even defeat Tommy Stone. Let that sink in.”
He laughed, looking directly at the picture of Tornado.
“Well then, thanks for the easy win AWE. Because, make no mistake, that is what this match will be. I would even go so far as to say that Lawson presented a bigger threat to me - although that is akin to saying that a pen is a bigger threat than a pencil to a tank.”
Akragth shook his head, moving to look back at the camera.
“So just how does one battle this “Spin Doctor”? Well that one is simple. I will hit him in the face so hard that he will not know up from down. I will brutalise his pathetic body until he cannot stand long enough to climb the turnbuckle, let alone execute one of his oh so coveted diving moves. I will hold him down so that he cannot use his speed and agility. And there is nothing that he can do about it. His one strength is his speed and that is very easily neutralised through careful precision and experienced counterattacking. Without that, though? Well, without that he has nothing.
“Tornado Desperado’s technical skills are inferior. His strength is inferior. His ring experience is inferior. Psychology, stamina, intelligence, awareness, endurance - all inferior. His tolerance for pain is lower - he cowers from it, I revel in it. Every strike he lays on me will only make my anger grow, my power excel; but every strike I lay on him will sap his will to even be there and break down his weak little mind. For all of his flips and the bullshit attitude he carries around, he pales in comparison to me on every level. He is beneath me. He is inferior to me. He has no prayer of defeating me!”
Akragth sighed and shrugged.
“Bottom line? I will outsmart, outpunch, outlast and outmanoeuvre Tornado. I will quel his attacks before they ever take place, I will foresee his next move before even he does. This is no challenge to me, yet again AWE has offered up an opponent that is not worth my time."
He stood, Tornado's paper in hand.
“But that is how it goes. And at the end of the day, I can only defeat who I am put against. Therefore that is what I will do. I will do it because I can and, just like Lawson, there’s nothing that Tornado can do to stop me.”
Ak turned, pinning the piece of paper to his noticeboard. Above it is written "next on the list".
"The Destroyer has cast his gaze; now comes his wrath. Nothing personal, TD, you are simply in the way."
