The time was upon us, the moment where Aaron Pace took another step forward to reaching his overall goal...
Backstage, Aaron sat on a chair in a black t-shirt and his wrestling attire. The sleeves were cut off the shirt and it featured a picture of him on the front seemingly blowing a whistle until he happened to be red in the face. He sat there for a moment, scratching his chin as a serious expression appeared. Something was on his mind, something may very well of been bothering the man.. But what was it exactly?

“Where are ya Cyrus?
You've been quiet and everyone's been asking why that was. Why is Cyrus so quiet? Why isn't he saying anything? Where's the man that toppled Boardwalk and most every other company he's appeared in? It's a good question and one I've been wondering myself. You see, when I was told about you and I wrestling I thought to myself that maybe I'd finally have some competition. I'd have a match I could sink my teeth into but as it turned out... I find myself asking the same question as everyone else. Where is Cyrus Riddle?
But unlike these numpties in the crowd, I have the capacity to figure out the answer to the same question..
You know what I know, don't you Cyrus? I touched upon the idea that maybe you were at your end, maybe your road was slowly coming to a close. I suspected as much given your lack of enthusiasm shown for not just this contest but your time in this company thus far. Your candle is burning out, the flame, that spark that ignited your career is slowly but surely disappearing. The fires going out and there's no shame in that, there's no shame in you getting to the end. In fact – most would be happy to have had the career you did. Most would be ecstatic to have made it to places you have been...”
He paused and sat there looking maybe the slightest bit disappointed. He hadn't wanted it to go like this, he wanted a Cyrus Riddle who was giving it his all.. but instead? Instead he seemed to have an opponent who didn't quite care enough.

“But I think you realize as well as I do that you're in the twilight of your career. You were once storied, people hung to your every last move but that hasn't been the case for quite some time, has it Cyrus? You're growing out of it, you're being passed by. Wrestlers keep evolving and you just stay the same and I think that eats you up inside, doesn't it? So you try to hang on, you try to cling to that success you used to have while tarnishing your own name further in the process. See, what used to be a professional wrestler with a prowess many found unparalleled? Well now that's turned into a joke, in fact it wouldn't shock me if you came here looking for a hook up with a rat or Carmen Cambridge or something and used wrestling as an excuse.
You're nothing more than a relic, someone that needed left in the past a long time ago but nobody had the nerve nor the strength of character to take Old Yeller out back and put a bullet in him.
But I do. The longer you continue to stay here and pretend that everything's the same for you is another slip and slide back down that ladder for your career... Make no mistake, I don't do this out of any concern for you or any 'respect'. I'll take you out of the equation for me, but bringing your downfall, bringing your failure to a stop? It's just a byproduct of the embarrassment, the shame you'll feel when you open your eyes, when you awaken in the middle of that ring... fans will be laughing at you, people will be cheering my name and the last thing you'll hear before you do that whores walk of shame to the back will be my whistle as I blow it and celebrate..”
He confidently spoke, it was as if he believed every word coming out of his own mouth. That was indeed the case though, because he spoke with this unbridled, incomparable passion in everything he said. This too was an example of that..

“To everyone else in this thing? Watch what I do out there. Toss that in with what I did to SOB and then think about it... think long and hard... I am not to be taken lightly.”
The events that proceeded this come their contest would prove this, thought Aaron as he stood up and walked off. No playing with his whistle, no snarky comments. No, Aaron was angry, he wanted a fight and it honestly didn't look as if Cyrus was going to be the one to give that to him... shame, really.
