December 23rd, 2016
As the scene comes to life, we find ourselves inside Candy’s Las Vegas condo. The place has been decked out for Christmas as she sits on the couch with a smile on her face.
“Heeeeeeyyyyyyyyy AWE! How y’all doing?!”, she questions as she waves at the camera before her, “As you can see, all my friends know me really well. They’re sending me yummy treats this holiday season.”
Candy nods with approval as her eyes scan all the treat baskets that surround her.
“So if I get a little distracted during this promo, you know why.”
Candy returns her eyes to the camera as she lets out a laugh.
“But as great as Christmas is going to be this year, I’m already looking forward to the New Year and my debut match. Now that doesn’t mean I’m wishing the holidays were gone. Time with family and friends is really something precious. However, I’ve been away from the ring for a bit as I searched for another place to call home and I’m a little anxious to get back into it.”
Candy pauses.
“So as far as I’m concerned, the 8th of January can’t get here quick enough. And by the looks of it, the AWE has set me up with quite an opportunity that night. To not only beat one opponent, but two. Not exactly the easiest thing in the world I know with the level competition around this place. But I’m going to give it my best shot!”
Candy sounds pretty upbeat as she goes on.
“Now I know Bindy Trent and Brandon Collins probably have their doubts about me. Can’t say I blame them. I know I don’t appear to be much of a threat. But let me assure you, there’s more to me than meets the eye.”
Upon those words, Candy pulls a Kit Kat from one of the baskets and starts to unwrap it.
“Sure, I may like my candy…”, she takes a bite from the bar and speaks around what’s in her mouth, “...but I’m just as determined to make something of myself in this business.”
Candy finishes chewing and swallows the candy before leaning in closer to the camera.
“Now maybe I’ve had my problems in the past with lost matches and missed title opportunities. Truth be told, I have come up short more times than I care to count. But I’m not about to let that get to me. The past is what it is. I can’t change it, but come the next Massacre I will show everyone that I’ve learned from it. I am not about to start off my AWE career on the wrong foot.”
There is a look of determination on her face.
“I know Brandon is saying the same thing to himself right now. I can’t say I blame him, either. I’d want to win if I were in his shoes too. But unfortunately, we all can’t win here. There can be only one victor. And if comes down to him or me...I will choose me every time. Sorry, that’s just the way it has to be.”
Candy shrugs her shoulders just a bit.
“As for Bindy, I was watching backstage as she came up short against Zack Fantana. Such a heartbreaking moment. Of course, she will play it off as if it weren’t that big of a deal to her. But deep down it has to be eating at her. I should know. I’m speaking from experience. And for that reason alone, I know just how badly she wants to bounce back in this triple threat contest. Too bad I have to do whatever I can to stop her. I kinda feel bad about it. But much like I told Brandon, when it comes right down to it...I have to look out for my career before anyone else’s. Including hers.”
Candy lets out a heavy sigh.
“Sorry if saying all this spoils the holiday for you both. I’m not trying to be mean or anything. Just giving you a heads of for what’s coming your way on the next Massacre. Believe me or not, that’s up to you. But make no mistake about it, I’m not about to let my past dictate my future. The AWE is a clean slate for me and I’m going to make the most of it!”
Candy gives the camera quite the stare before leaning back in her seat.
“See you all at Massacre. Until then, I’m going to enjoy the Christmas holiday...and the rest of this candy!”
With that being said, Candy smiles as she pops the rest of the Kit Kat in her mouth. She then looks around and then starts selecting candy from each of the baskets. Once her both hands are full, Candy stands up from the couch and walks out of view to end the scene.
