The ambient is hearty – people are enjoying their food and beverages. The place is located in the USA; however, the wooden furniture which appears to date from the 19th century and the melodic folk music have us feeling like we’re in a legitimate Irish pub. The camera moves to the back and there's Benny Stevens. Now in an enclosed room, the voices and the music sound muffled. That specific room appears to be a special area, which is less crowded. It’s not even St-Patrick’s Day, yet we see the man wearing an all-green plaid suit.
Benny is certainly feeling good about himself. With a glass of Jameson in hands, he notices the camera getting closer. Still, he’s focused on one of the several vintage beer paintings hanging on the wooden wall.
“Dominic Lawson.”
He finishes up the half-filled glass of whisky right away, which doesn’t even affect him. He turns to a waiter that was passing by and hands him the glass.
“Goddamn! This shit’s good! Bring me another one, will ya?”
“Sir… Can you turn off the camera?”
“Nah.”
“Sir…”
“C'mon, just give me twenty minutes. I need to show this place to my… Mother. She’ll love it!”
The waiter reluctantly nods and goes away with the empty glass. Benny turns to the camera showing a confident smile – perhaps he’s just tipsy.
“I beg you to don’t get me wrong now, Dominic. I’m not here to stereotype your roots… Nope! In fact, I’m here because I wanted to get to know a different culture. If you ask me, it’s one of the perks of being on the road on a constant basis – different experiences and whatnot. Obviously, I don’t intend to make a fool of myself in front of the whole world watching us – unlike Austin Gale. I mean, come on, Gale… Thank you for confirming every single word that I said about you.
Thank you.
So I called you childish and, as a response, you claimed that I have a vagina. Way to go, Austin… You get an A+ for making a fool of yourself like that. I just wonder how you feel about the fact that your new camera man, Fernando, is more entertaining than you’ll ever be. Does that bother you, Austin? The kid’s stealing your thunder… Just saying!”
Benny lets out a laugh.
“Anyway, back to the main subject… Dominic Lawson. Y’know what? I like you, Dominic. I have major respect for you. Shelton is still frying his little brain in an attempt to come up with something against the man that inspired him. Gale, like I just said, made a fool of himself and addressed you like you’re nothing… But me?
I’m taking the clever route.
Dominic, you’re one of the toughest people in the company and it’s truly an honor to share the ring with you. See, I was reading about your past and I can tell that you’re the kinda guy that has been putting in hard work for several years. Now that’s impressive! I mean, you’re thirty four years old and you’re still doing this – you truly love wrestling. You’re not in it for money, fame and status. Well, you’re not a Drew Stevenson when it comes to career accomplishments… But hey, you did defeat the man himself.
Wrestling is your passion, isn’t it?”
The waiter passes Benny his whisky glass.
“This business needs more good people like you, Lawson… You persevere no matter who stands in front of you. No matter the adversities. Whether your ways to solve a problem are clean or not, you’ll still find a way to kick the stones outta your path and keep moving forward – and if you can’t walk, you will fuckin’ crawl. I re-watched your previous matches and I gotta admit that you possess great resilience. Taking high damage is no problem for you, so hey, I guess you understand how I feel.
Both of us fit in this division… But you must ask yourself – are you ready to be a Champion? Do you have what it takes to represent the AWE brand while being targeted by the whole roster?
I don’t think so. You see, Dominic, we all have our flaws and you even mentioned one of yours… You are desperate. Sure, desperation will make us do anything to survive – and that’s what you’ve been doing all these years. But it gets to a point that your body won’t take it anymore, Dominic… Your mind will break down and so will your motivation. Now I’m not saying that you’re about to run outta motivation. You just have to understand that no matter how many times I lose, I’ll remain as motivated as one can be – that’s one of my main traits. You just can't break my body, let alone my motivation.
My career's record is negative, friendo. But y’know what? Like Austin said, I’m gonna log on Twitter and change my profile picture several times a week… And then, I’ll taunt a bunch of people because guess what? I don’t give a fuck.
I just won’t stop.”
He drinks a bit of the whisky – not as irresponsibly as before.
“Thanks to Radford’s tricks, you were eliminated from the Alpha Cup. Oh, that was a tough loss. I mean, you have to taste your own medicine someday, right? Nevertheless, you gotta look into the mirror and think to yourself… Do I still have the motivation to fight?
Do you, Lawson?
Honestly? You haven’t had a true test in AWE yet. This match is the introduction of your true test. And that true test is but the taste of another tough loss. Fact is you’ve been getting closer to the Championship, yet you’re always one step behind.
Remember that one? That used to be me. But not anymore, Lawson… Not anymore. Bring everything you have and lay all your anger upon me if you feel the need. It just won’t be enough to take me down, buddy!”

The scene fades as Benny finishes his Jameson glass.
"Cheers!”
"Cheers!”
