PREAMBLE
The Alpha Wrestling Empire is meant to be an online role-playing community and story world limited only by the power of our imaginations. As a purveyor of wrestling entertainment, for now, the AWE is pretty small time. It is the hope that, over time, it will grow, and that's where you come in.
If you're interested in taking part in the Alpha Wrestling Empire, you will fill out an application on the designated forum where you list the preferred division you'd like to take part in be it Paramount, Resilience, or if you're interested in our tag-team competition in our Dynamic Division you'll fill out a specialized tag-team application.
Once applied, you will then be booked on an event entitled Massacre which will be a bi-weekly event featuring summarized results posted on Sundays. You will be expected to write "role-plays"
THE RULES
0) Staff Will not be a part of active competition.
1) The Real World, and Real Life come first.
2) Original/Created Wrestlers Only.
2B) As an individual handler you are allowed a maximum of two singles wrestlers, or one tag team.
3) Keep In-Character (IC) in character, and Out-Of-Character (OOC) out of character.
4) Outcomes for matches will be determined by role-play merit, and skill as determined by a rubric you can see for yourself in the division information listed here.
4B) Angles affect outcomes only when mutually agreed upon by the participants in a match and the staff.
5) Match outcomes are final. If you don't like a decision, and believe that you won a match, that's fine, but that isn't going to change the outcome that the judges decided on. If you see something on the card that you didn't like, feel free to discuss it with a member of staff to find out why it happened, but do not blow-up publicly. If you do choose to complain openly, disciplinary action will be taken. After a first warning, the next such blow-up will result in being banned from the forum.
5B) Do Unto Others As You'd Have Done Unto You; AKA: Be kind when relating to staff and your fellow handlers. This will be reciprocated. We're humans who CAN, and will, make mistakes, believe it or not. Let's keep our OOC interactions respectful.
6) There are maximum numbers of role-plays allowed for each division. However, in the event that you post ONE (1) and your opponent posts the maximum number of role-plays allowed, their grades in the rubric shall be averaged into a mean, (with an added 2-3, depending on the division, points awarded for maxxing.) It is possible your ONE (1) role-play can receive a higher score than your opponent's THREE (3), or TWO (2), and you can still achieve victory.
7) Sunday Night Massacre is a bi-weekly event that will feature summarized results in the form of a recap show.
8) The final deadline for Massacre will be at 10 AM EST on the Friday before the show is dated.
8B) There will be a 24 hour rule in effect before the final deadline. Only one role-play may be posted in the 24 hours before the final deadline in order to prevent "sand-bagging".
8C) If you choose to post one roleplay within this 24 hour period, 1 point shall be deducted from your final score. Please understand this is not a penalty for being busy. A two (2) week window to role-play should allow plenty of time to post a role-play, save for extenuating circumstances. This is meant as a respect to not only match writers, but more importantly your opponent(s) to post early enough to allow for response, or pre-planning a match.
9) Do Not use other characters in your role-plays without that handler's consent. On events, in regards to run-in attacks and segments, we request that you come to staff first before involving other characters in event attacks.
10) Everything you post in your role-plays for events will be seen by your opponent. If there are aspects, or events in your character's lives you wish to keep "off-camera", then those types of posts belong on the character development board. As is, everything posted for a match will be considered "On-Camera".
11) Segments are useful for developing your character, for developing on-air story lines and involving your character in the world of AWE. While not mandatory, they are helpful to the fed, and often help push your character.
12) No Showing - The AWE reserves the right to remove a roster member who no shows after attempts at contact are made.
12B) If two members no-show for the same match, the AWE reserves the right to scrap the match altogether; also see rule 12.
14) AWE upholds Zero Tolerance of Discrimination in all forms: Racism; Sexism; the various phobic qualities of assholes. That said, some characters are pricks, or of dubious ethical quality, or hold phobic biases. This is all fine as an IN-CHARACTER trait, but we ask that you filter yourself through a layer of decency. What does this mean? Keep In-Character as IN-CHARACTER, and Out-Of-Character as OUT-OF-CHARACTER. And don't go overboard.
15) Do Not Recycle Role-Plays from past feds when posting for matches. The Character Development board is the place for old writing that may supplement an understanding for your character.
16) No outside advertising on the forums, please. If you wish to affiliate, please contact staff.
